BEIJING, Nov. 11 — King of Pop Michael Jackson’s private family funeral cost roughly 1 million U.S. dollars, a funeral befitting a king indeed, media reports said Wednesday.
Media found that the funeral bill alone from Forest Lawn Cemetery totaled 855,730 U.S. dollars. His casket cost 25,000 U.S. dollars, and his burial garments were worth 35,000 U.S. dollars. Another 175,089 dollars were spent on the security.
Jackson’s mother, brother Randy, and sister Janet were involved in the planning of the huge event put on Sept. 3.
The number was released when lawyers for Jackson’s mother applied to the estate’s administrators. She was granted 1 million U.S. dollars from the King of Pop’s fortune.
The private ceremony for the King of Pop was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, the United States, weeks after a public one at Staples Center in California. ![]()
